Do you know the difference between LVT and SPC flooring?

When it comes to adding a new flooring solution, it can be a tough choice to figure out which kind of floor is perfect for your selected space. Stone Plastic Composite flooring also known as SPC Flooring is new multiple layers flooring which is equipped with characteristics such as being dimensionally stable, resilient and simple to install. On the other hand Luxury Vinyl Tiles (LVT) flooring is common as exceptional floor covering that gives a more real look and feel of real wooden, stone or ceramic floor.

Advantages of choosing SPC:

Affordability

As long as the affordability of SPC (Stone Plastic Composite) is concerned, it is more of an affordable floor when compared to other flooring solutions. This is due to the core elements of SPC being Stone which cost minimum to procure at point of manufacture in comparison to PVC which is the main core of Vinyl Click.

Availability:

Beautiful flooring solutions including both SPC vinyl and traditional LVT available in a variety of colors, sizes, patterns, decors, textures, plank width, etc. From modern to traditional and rustic styles, one can find every variety of style and to suit your budget.

Stability

When it comes to stability, the SPC floor is known to be a more stable product.

Indentation

The rigid core SPC floor is made out of the composite core construction as it is known to be one step over the solid LVT. Rigid core SPC Floor is said to be primarily suitable flooring that requires higher indentation resistance and where extensive exposure to heat can occur. It is good for commercial applications where actual performance is in demand. What is common between SPC and LVT flooring?

There are many similarities between traditional Vinyl Flooring and SPC flooring, some of which are;

100% waterproof

Traditional LVT and SPC vinyl both are 100% waterproof. Spills and stains of water, juice, etc. do not affect the SPC or Vinyl Click Flooring either.

Application

Similarly like most vinyl flooring, traditional LVT and SPC vinyl can be installed above, on or below the grade. They are excellent flooring options especially for kitchens, laundry rooms, bathrooms and businesses such as cafes and restaurants. Vinyl flooring is an ideal option.

Installation

Concerning to the installation process, both Vinyl and SPC should be installed over a leveled surface and can be applied directly on top of sub floors in the absence of any preparation, some of which are ceramic tiles, marble, plywood, a leveled screed, or directly onto a leveled raised access floor using an underlay. Vinyl Click is suitable for both residential and commercial areas alike whereas SPC flooring is mainly suitable for commercial areas. In case your subflooring has dents or marks, you can choose to go with LVT flooring that may transfer via the surface since it is more pliable and flexible.

Easy to clean and maintain

When you go for either vinyl or SPC flooring, the best benefit you get with it is that it is easy to clean and maintain and with regular sweeping and cleaning with a wet mop and bucket it can become as shiny and glowing as new.
